Introducing .box
.box (dot box) is a collection of command line scripts created to automated the process of installing and maintaining software development workstations.
.box includes installation scripts for a variety of disciplines including Ruby, Javascript, Go, Php, and more.
.box remembers the complex list of commands required to install your development drug of choice, .box doesn't mistype, .box doesn't forget.
we will be using .box to install into our virtual machine:
- Visual Studio Code - Code editing.Redefined.
- Atom - a hackable text editor for the 21st century.
- Atom addons including babel, eslint, editorconfig, and nuclide.
- Git, GitFlow, and GIBO - Tools for git repositories.
- GitKraken - A Git Gui client.
- Docker - The world's leading software container platform.
- Docker Compose - a tool for defining and running multi-container Docker applications.
- Google Chrome - a fast free web browser.
- NVM, NPM, and NodeJS - tools for javascript development.
- zShell - Zsh can be thought of as an extended Bourne shell.
